CitiPod Connect – Creating the digital nervous system for a new urban vehicle¶
Client: Sean Moroney, Cambridge Electric Transport (Micromobility Innovation).
CitiPod is a new four-wheel lightweight electric pedal vehicle being developed in Cambridge for passenger, cargo and shared-mobility applications, with future low-speed autonomous capability. As CitiPod progresses towards commercialisation, we need to explore how the vehicle should connect digitally with its users and fleet operators. Your challenge is to create a prototype connected-vehicle platform linking a simulated CitiPod to a back-end system, user interface and fleet-management dashboard. A CitiPod "digital twin" could generate realistic data including location, speed, battery level, vehicle status and security events, allowing users to locate and interact with their vehicle while operators monitor a simulated fleet. An additional challenge is to explore how this platform could interface with CitiPod's future autonomous system, for example requesting and monitoring an unoccupied vehicle repositioning itself. The goal is not a production system, but a compelling end-to-end prototype and architecture showing how CitiPod's future connected digital ecosystem could work.
